The Native Instruments Maschine Mk3 - Komplete Kontrol S49 keyboard      (Synopsis)

MaschineMk3_1The question arose, with the release of the new Maschine Mk3 WHAT 49 key, keyboard to choose?

Of course Native Instruments would advocate as probably most dealers, that you buy the latest S49 Mk2 K Kontrol BUT!

If you realize as I did that BOTH have the same dual displays that allow you to listen to sample sounds/navigate and et, on both screens then why would you want to spend extra on equipment that offers identical interfaces to the N I software ?

The Maschine Mk3 you can find out more in detail LINK for more info

What it does have that earlier models lacked is the inbuilt AUDIO interface that makes it a unique standalone as well as main interface to the Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol software. Output via headphones or amp/speakers.

KompleteKontrolS49What I opted for was the Maschine Mk3 WITH the K Kontrol S49 Mk1 which I acquired NEW for the handsome price of 350.00 instead of paying for the Mk2 version at 469.00 That gave me a saving of 119.00 AND still offers me pre sound sampling on the Maschine Mk3 plus a decent keyboard interface

HOWEVER of course the S49 Mk2 apart from having the dual screens et does also have decent pitch and mod wheels instead of the controversial strips..

DO take the time to check out YOUTUBE vids on these!

KompleteKontrolS49_Mk2I use a combination of audio AND midi for recording purposes.

Some of you will record audio only. Either of these keyboards are perfect for that BUT

DO remember that unlike most other keyboards these are designed to operate as dedicated interfaces for the Native Instruments Komple Kontrol software.
Yes they offer midi interfacing BUT if you only want to use a keyboard for that purpose there are far cheaper alternatives available.

They do NOT have audio outputs ! Your software and system is the audio component part, the keyboards shown are interfaces only!

Some DAWS will operate no problems BUT as I always say, DO CHECK when adding gear to your collection re interfacing with your chosen DAW. I ALWAYS ‘Google’ et for info, reviews, community based speculations, problem solving and more that is often readily available.

One of the recommended DAW software options that many of my friends like re the Maschine Mk3 AND the S49 keyboard interfaces that they find stable and with low latency responses = Cukows Reaper. https://www.reaper.fm/ for more info.

I have to add of course, that how the software once installed correctly ! works with your equipment will depend on a lot of factors that I am not going to go into detail on, hence as always I accept no responsibility if you download and use this regarding liabilities in any way shape of form!
The MINIMUM spec to run this software MUST be observed and implemented i.e 64 bit with decent processor speed i.e Intel i5 / i7 and memory at least 16Gb recommended! An added extra of an SSD drive with at least 500Gb is a bonus.
